Embark on a thrilling 7-Day African Safari Tour adventure with Kilinyota Safaris, the ultimate journey for travelers who want to see it all. This comprehensive itinerary takes you through the full spectrum of Tanzania’s beauty—from the groundwater forests of Lake Manyara to the endless plains of the Serengeti, the volcanic marvel of the Ngorongoro Crater, and the elephant-rich majesty of Tarangire.
With ample time in each location, you won’t just visit these parks; you will immerse yourself in them. Witness the Big Five, soar above the savannah in a hot air balloon, and walk in the footsteps of early humans at Olduvai Gorge. Guided by our expert local drivers, this is the safari of a lifetime.
After a morning briefing and breakfast, we depart Arusha for Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, this park is a lush introduction to your safari.
The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, which you may spot lounging in the acacia branches to escape the heat. It is also a birdwatcher’s haven, often painted pink with thousands of flamingos along the lake shore. We will enjoy a game drive through the groundwater forest, spotting troops of baboons, blue monkeys, and grassland elephants before heading to your lodge for a relaxing evening.
We begin with an early morning game drive in Lake Manyara to catch the wildlife at its most active, or simply enjoy a relaxed breakfast before hitting the road. We then embark on the scenic journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park.
The drive takes us through the cool, misty highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As we descend on the other side, you will witness the landscape transform into the vast, golden savannahs that define the Serengeti. We arrive at your lodge in time to explore the park’s rich habitats and enjoy a sunset over the endless plains.
A Sky-High Adventure: Start your day with an iconic Hot Air Balloon Ride (optional/included as per booking) over the Serengeti. Drifting silently above the waking herds is a magical experience, followed by a champagne bush breakfast.
The rest of the day is spent exploring the Sogore River Circuit, a prime spot for spotting plains game like Thompson gazelles and cheetahs. In the afternoon, we explore the Kopjes Circuit (rocky outcrops), which are favorite resting spots for lions and leopards. These natural rock pools often hold water, attracting wildlife and offering incredible photography opportunities.
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This day offers a mix of wildlife and history.
We will stop at the famous Olduvai Gorge, known as the “Cradle of Mankind.” Here, you can tour the museum and learn about the Leakey family’s discovery of early human fossils. We then proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Enjoy a hot lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge, soaking in the breathtaking views of the massive caldera below, preparing for tomorrow’s descent.
Today, we descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day safari. This volcanic amphitheater is a self-contained ecosystem and one of the few places in Africa where you can see the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino) in a single day.
Keep your camera ready for the rare Black Rhino and the unique bat-eared foxes. The crater floor is teeming with zebras and wildebeests, while the hippo pool offers a chance to see these massive magnificent creatures up close. After a picnic lunch in this prehistoric setting, we ascend the crater walls and head to our next destination.
After breakfast, we journey to Tarangire National Park, a park with a landscape completely different from the Serengeti. It is characterized by its hilly terrain, dense bush, and thousands of ancient Baobab trees.
We will spend the day driving along the Tarangire River, the primary water source that attracts massive herds of elephants—sometimes up to 300 in a single group! Keep an eye out for dry-country specials like the fringed-eared oryx and the long-necked gerenuk.
We conclude our safari adventure with a final morning game drive in Tarangire. The early light casts a golden glow on the Baobab trees, creating a surreal backdrop for your last photos.
After soaking in the final sights and sounds of the bush, we begin our drive back to Arusha. Kilinyota Safaris will drop you off at the airport or your hotel, leaving you to reflect on an unforgettable journey through Tanzania’s wilderness.
