Epic 4-Day Tanzania Safari – Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro

After breakfast, you depart Arusha and drive toward Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, the landscape opens into wide savannahs dotted with ancient baobab trees. Tarangire is particularly famous for its large herds of elephants, often seen moving together across the plains or gathering along the Tarangire River.

You will enjoy a full game drive through the park, encountering a wide variety of wildlife including giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and lions resting in the shade. A picnic lunch is enjoyed inside the park, allowing you to stay immersed in the wilderness throughout the day.

In the late afternoon, you leave the park and drive toward the Ngorongoro highlands for overnight rest.

After an early breakfast, you travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders. The crater floor supports an incredible density of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and large herds of grazing animals. With some luck, you may also spot the rare black rhinoceros.

After an unforgettable game drive and picnic lunch inside the crater, you begin your journey toward Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the scenic Ngorongoro highlands before descending into the vast open plains that define the Serengeti.

Game viewing continues as you enter the park, offering your first encounters with Serengeti’s famous wildlife.

Today is dedicated to exploring Serengeti National Park, one of the most celebrated wildlife destinations in the world. The endless plains stretch in every direction, creating a breathtaking backdrop for unforgettable wildlife encounters.

You will enjoy extensive game drives across wildlife-rich areas, particularly regions known for year-round animal activity. Serengeti is renowned for its large prides of lions, fast-moving cheetahs, elusive leopards, and massive herds of wildebeest and zebras. Your guide will follow animal movements to maximize sightings while allowing time to fully absorb the beauty and scale of the landscape.

As the sun sets over the savannah, the sounds and colors of the wild mark the end of a truly memorable day.

After breakfast, you travel to Lake Manyara National Park for your final safari experience. This park offers a refreshing change of scenery, with lush groundwater forests, open grassy areas, and the shallow soda lake stretching along the Rift Valley floor.

During your game drive, you may encounter troops of baboons, blue monkeys, forest elephants, buffalo, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Birdlife is abundant, with flamingos and many other water birds often seen along the lakeshore.

After the game drive and lunch, you return to Arusha or proceed directly to the airport for your onward journey, bringing your safari adventure to a close.
